Maybe baseball teams shouldn't fly around so much---look at all the JetA they're burning! Just play teams within driving distance of one EV charge. And make sure the electric bus and stadium lights are powered only with renewables. Plus, no more players from Dominican Republic or Japan---too large of an FF footprint to be practical.
Pat: Good point. MLB teams are actually better on that score than NBA and NHL teams because they play one opponent two to three times before taking on another team. NBA and NHL teams play only one game against one opponent and then play another opponent, which means they travel more. The NBA is considering scheduling teams to play more than one game at a time, mimicking the MLB schedule. As for MLB players from other countries, they don't have an impact on their respective teams travel schedule. They travel with their teammates and, at least during the season, live in their teams' home towns.
